Welcome to the Chicago Blast Soccer Club

The Chicago Blast is a highly successful youth soccer club. Our players come from all over the Chicago land area for our advanced proven training methods. The Blast is directed by professionals who are dedicated to elevating technical and tactical skills by focusing on the “Four T’s” of the world’s favorite sport:

Mission

Our mission is to provide guidance on and off the field to all of our young developing soccer players.  The primary message to all of the players in the Chicago Blast Soccer Club is in order to succeed at the next level there must be equal success in the classroom as on the soccer field.

Loyalty
Individualism
Team Work
Imagination

Player Development Philosophy "Training is a Privilege"

Commitment to development is the number one goal of our organization.  The club offers four levels of development.  Beginning competitive, competitive, advanced competitive, and the newly formed Chicago Blast Soccer Academy.  Our objectives are to prepare players tactically and technically first and opportunities for success will follow.  With this approach, our club has become quickly successful and known to many colleges and universities throughout the United States.

Making Better Soccer Players

The primary goal of The Chicago Blast is to develop players to their fullest extent.  Our philosophy is simple “elevate technical and tactical skills first, wins and losses will take care of themselves.”  We pride ourselves in making all of the players in our club better players both strategically (how they think about and understand the game) and technically(their skill in playing). The advanced players are consistently challenged to develop for college level and beyond.

For our young developing players we have adapted the Steady Program for our coaches.

The Steady Program

Success is more then winning games
Teach the basics of soccer by playing and quality training
Excitement is essential
Adapt to player’s lives
Divide players to small groups for more touches on the ball
Your job:  As a coach, to keep things moving

Soccer and "The Game of Life"

We believe in soccer as a metaphor for life: work hard, play by the rules, treat others with respect, learn and grow, and have fun.  These are “family values” that we, and we hope the families in our club, take very seriously. We want to encourage our players to not only be “complete” players, but also “complete” people, where academics, athletics, social activities, enjoyment with teammates, and love for the game are all integrated. We like to think of our club as a “family”.

Dedicated to Youth

The Chicago Blast is privileged to be able to train some of the finest young soccer players throughout the Chicago land area.  The Blast teams have consistently performed in the top levels of the Northern Illinois Soccer League, Illinois Women’s Soccer League and at the state, regional, and national levels.

Directed by Professionals

All Blast teams are both trained and coached by professionals of Soccer Made in America, which is a professional coaching and training organization founded in 1984.  These trainer/coaches have coached at professional, collegiate, and national levels.  The Blast is led by Aleks Mihailovic, a nationally recognized coach at the Division I level, a former professional player in the North American Soccer league, and most recently appointed United States Adult Men’s National Team Coach.

Advantages in Training

If you watch Chicago Blast play you will find a very entertaining brand of soccer combined with hard working ethics. Our methods of training and developing players are designed to focus on age of the player, and we use age-appropriate methods of training for ages 6-18.  Our training is more fundamental in the pre-high school years and then reinforces more advanced techniques and tactics when players are ready for transition to the high school game at ages 14 through 18 in preparation for college and beyond.

Success of our Club

The success of our club can be measured in several ways by:

  • The success of national tournaments our teams have won
  • The proven methodology our teams are coached by
  • The quality of the coaching staff that develops our players
  • The opportunities our players are having at the collegiate level

The Chicago Blast Soccer Club also looks at success from another point of view.  We believe that the ultimate success of our program should be measured by the number of life learning experiences that are created through the game of soccer.

We believe what makes the Chicago Blast unique and well rounded besides high priority on development is the fact that all of our players are exposed to multi-cultural diversity.  This is a dimension that completes us and with these opportunities there are many life-related lessons to be learned.  The game of soccer becomes a vehicle to developing true life-long friendships.
