Chicago Blast teams do well in Disney Tournament. Chicago Blast sent five teams to compete in the ESPN Wide World of Sports President’sDisney Day Soccer Tournament: U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, and U14 Boys. Four teams made it to the finals, three teams won first place bringing home Gold Medals. Outstanding job by the coaching staff- Milos, Rafa, Jamie and Coach Aleks. Special congratulations to all our team administrators who worked diligently prior and throughout the tournament. PRIDE, PASSION, JOY, EXCITEMENT, TEAM WORK, and SUCCESS are some of the lessons learned at Disney.
It was a very exciting tournament with very good competition and great weather. Many games brought fans out of their seats during quarter finals and in the championship games. This was a special tournament for many players who traveled to compete out of state for the first time.
We would like to thank the following sponsors: Araiza, Iron Horse, McHugh and US Plumbing and Sewer, Inc. who helped make dreams possible for our players.

There is something very special taking place all throughout the club. Teams are performing at a solid level, individual players are elevating their performance, and coaches are executing the DEVELOPMENTAL PLAN set last July very effectively. The club has added two new experienced coaches who are already integrated in our style of play. The one significant improvement that is noticeable is the improvement in our girl’s teams. Our U-18 team is a perfect example. The U-18 girls have had a solid two months of successful play against strong competition. Tying a team who lost in the National Cup Finals and winning games against respectable opponents. The U-11 and U-14 Girls teams are also doing well in indoor league play. There is also strong talent in our U-8 and U-9 teams that will one day compete at a high level. On the boys side all across the club teams are having strong results. The boy’s teams are solid in all age groups. You can see significant improvement in our players from August. Besides technical elevation, decision making is at a much higher level. The club is also receiving invitations from select tournaments from all across the country. During Disney many players enjoyed the feeling of real grass under their feet, a little tease before we go outside.
