We are proud to announce both Samantha Formella and Tammy Contorno from the U-18 Red team have committed to play collegiate soccer at St. Xavier University. They will play for the Cougars under Coach Jeremy Ekeler in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (The CCAC), having earned both academic and athletic scholarships.
Four players on our U18 Red Girls team will be playing at the collegiate level. Shelley Hadlock will be playing for the Flyers at Lewis University, under Coach Koenig in the Great Lakes Valley Conference(GLVC), and Bobbi Wydra will be playing for the Spartans at Aurora University, under Coach Kanute Drugan in the Northern Athletic Conference (NAC). Shelley received an athletic and academic scholarship and Bobby received an academic scholarship.
We are excited about the great accomplishments of these girls as well as our entire U18 Red team. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rick Hadlock, the team administrator, for his commitment and dedication in keeping these girls organized since joining our club four years ago. In addition to team administrative role, Rick has organized both practice and game fields at Mount Assisi, and has volunteered his time to maintain the soccer fields by cutting and lining in order to retain our use of these fields.
They graduate as the most successful girls team in our club. Good luck to all the girls with their future endeavors.
