Chicago Blast Teams Compete and Win at Midwest Cup 2010 2010-06-04 The Chicago Blast Soccer teams had great success in the Midwest Cup this past weekend in St. Charles, IL. Three teams, U11 Red boys, U13/U12 Combination team, and U14 Silver Girls all had a successful tournament.U14 Silver Girls The U14 Girls team made up of U13 and U14 players competed very well all throughout the weekend. Our U14 girls team a C Ranked team, competed against B and A level teams ending the tournament with a 1-1-1 record. The significant factor is that the U14 team only gave up one goal the entire tournament. Many players came of age this weekend by playing and successfully competing against higher level competition. The U14 team is a much improved team and consistently getting better. Great job girls.U13 Blue Boys The U13 boys won the tournament beating Minnesota Thunder Academy 2-1 in the finals. Once again our team received many complements throughout the tournament on the way they played. The team also battled fatigue and injuries especially in the final game. They also adjusted tactically very well to opponent’s tactics in the second half when the team from Minnesota pushed up four players in the attack in an attempt to tie the game. Great win. This was a total team achievement. Congratulations boys.U11 Red Boys The U11 boys made up of U10 and U11 combination team also had a very successful tournament by coming in second place losing 2-1 in the Championship game after two rain delays. The boys and one girl played very effectively all weekend long in the U11 division. Many players received valuable tournament experience by competing at a high level. Excellent job boys and one girl.
Congratulations to all our players, parents and coaches for an outstanding job by playing and competing with class throughout the tournament.
