Three Chicago Blast Teams have SUCCESS at St. Louis Scott Gallagher Tournament (SLSG)

CONGRATULATIONS to the Chicago Blast U-12 Pre Academy and U-13 Pre Academy teams for making it to the finals of the Scott Gallagher Tournament in St. Louis. The U-12 team won 1st place in a hard fought 3-0 over SASA out of Springfield, IL, and the U-13 team coming in 2nd place in a tough 1-0 loss to a team from Kansas City.

The U-14 Red team PLAYED VERY WELL winning two games and losing one, to the #6 team out of Kansas City, but unfortunately not making it to the championship round. Regardless it was a great experience for the U-14 Red Team in tournament play. This was the team’s first major tournament and they did not disappoint!

The U-13 team had a VERY GOOD WEEK in all competition; winning in Premiership earlier in the week, and making it to the championship game at SLSG. The U13 team beat the #4 Missouri team in penalty kicks to get to finals, unfortunately losing 1-0 in the finals to #6 Kansas City team. To achieve what the team did was a VERY STRONG TEAM EFFORT. Every player gave his best effort and contributed throughout the entire tournament. Several players came in to their own this weekend and as a team the U-13 boys improved from each game all the way to the last seconds in the championship game.

The U-12 team has been performing magnificently in Premiership, and from start-to-finish of the tournament exhibiting VERY GOOD BALANCE IN ATTACKING & DEFENDING. The Chicago Blast U-12’s were clearly the BEST TEAM in the tournament and deserved winning 1st place in the tournament. SLSG was VERY SUCCESSFUL for the players and parents alike, and a great development experience for these young Chicago Blast players.

Looking forward – the Chicago Blast is sending several teams to participate in tournament play next weekend in Rockford and then onto Disney over the Thanksgiving break.

Congratulations to every player who participated in SLSG this past weekend including players, parents, family members, coaches, and team administrators. Great effort and success on everyone’s part.

Chicago Blast Soccer Club is VERY PROUD of all of our players and teams across the entire club – many special events to look forward to in the coming months.
