Welcome to the present and the future

We invite you to experience the difference in our coaching and teaching style. The Chicago Blast Soccer Club is highly regarded in player development, providing dynamic high-level coaching and technical refinement from beginning to advanced playing levels. We are a community-based soccer club - offering practice and game locations in Hinsdale, Westmont, Oakbrook, Lemont, and Burr Ridge. Our players stem from all over Chicagoland and expand to Northwest Indiana.  The Chicago Blast Soccer Club presents richness in college showcase tournaments and competitive league play.

The success of our club is player development.  We work with the player's optimal vision of where they want to be and whom they want to become. Not everyone has aspirations to advance to the collegiate, professional, national team, and Olympic levels. This is a practical reason why we provide customizable playing levels for youth players - so they can maximize their abilities fully. From our beginning to advanced playing levels, we are committed to providing and supporting a personalized approach to development.

Aleks' name is synonymous with American Soccer.  I have known Aleks for over 45 years and am keenly aware of the many contributions he has made to our game.  As a young player at Jacksonville University, he led a terrific team that dominated the college game.  He went on to become a professional player of high caliber.  His high technical level was only overshadowed by his tactical awareness.  This knowledge of the intricacies of the game led him to pursue a successful career in coaching. He aggressively sought advice from the leaders of the game.  He studied in Europe and obtained the highest level of coaching license in America.  He was a confidant to Bora Milutinovic during the 1994 FIFA World Cup.

As a college coach, he excelled.  He started a successful business, Soccer Made in America, and has trained countless players and coaches.  He has dedicated his career to managing many teams in the USASA.  He created and wrote our coaching manuals.  He and I would discuss, in detail, the many aspects of our game.  His insight is clear and objective.  In short, he is a “man of the game” and I have relied on him on many occasions. As a member of the USASA Hall of Fame, I know of the pride one has been selected as a member.  Aleks is richly deserving of such distinction.  I am proud of him as a man, as an American, and as a close dear friend.  I cannot imagine our Hall of Fame without him.

HANK STEINBRECHER / UNITED STATES SOCCER FEDERATIONGENERAL SECRETARY

Mike Miller, former men's soccer coach: Duke University, Syracuse University & University of Connecticut

"There is no bigger testimonial than the players whose careers were impacted by Aleks Mihailovic and Soccer Made In America Training programs.
Coach Mihailovic has a great eye for evaluating potential talent and an even better ability to develop talent. His sessions place a strong emphasis on technique and tactical problem solving for player development. He helped me to become a better player in college and I have incorporated many of those learnings into my coaching philosophies today."

Bryan Becker, former Division 1 player at Dartmouth University and parent of Chicago Blast Soccer Club and SMIA

"If you really want your children to improve, I will only recommend SMIA training. I can’t believe how good it is.  My son was an average player before he started to participate in the SMIA program.  He is now a much-improved player with ambition and a realistic chance to play in college.  We spent time with other trainers, and nothing compares with this training."

Lauren Sesselman, Bronze Medalist, Canadian Olympic Soccer Team - Member, World Cup Soccer Team

"When I met Aleks Mihailovic, I was an All-American forward at Purdue. He saw my coach on the U.S. National Select Team and recommended that I play on the defensive line. I had never played defense before, but I went on to play defense professionally for nine years.  I capped my career as a starting defender for the Canadian National Team where we advanced to the quarter-finals in the Olympics and won a Bronze Medal. Aleks knows talent!"
